I wanted to give my partner something a bit special for her 50th birthday. I had seen some of Carol's pieces at craft fairs and I liked the the recurring 'Walthamstow wildlife' theme in her work. I knew I wanted a ring that combined an avian element with a stone, but wasn't quite sure what the design should be.
During our initial meeting, Carol listened to my ideas and then made some suggestions, which she clearly described. In the end we agreed on a 'torque style' ring. It's an open hoop design, with a textured silver songbird perched beneath a labradorite stone. A few weeks later I met Carol again to collect the ring - and was blown away by how exquisite it was. Considering the fact that it was a bespoke design and the high level of craftsmanship, I thought it was a remarkably good price.
